Basic Literature Background - American Literature Textbook -
Native American Creation Myths = “The World on the Turtle’s Back”
Students are still plowing through background material prior to actually reading examples of Native American creation myths -
Period 1 = page 27 middle “Voices of the People”
Period 3 = page 26 top “Writers of the Revolution”
Go as far and discuss as much as time allows and is appropriate.

I Am Project - Short Reflective Essay -
Polish introductory paragraph by stating two specific components of the I Am Project that were good or bad for you. You will elaborate on these two items in the main section of your short essay.


Period 2  Middle School English/Language Arts and Social Studies

Johnny Tremain - classic American historical fiction

Finish reading aloud - Chapter 10 “The Scarlet Deluge” -

Woods Runner - read aloud/read along - compare/contrast to JT

These 2 books are electronic editions - the software is Kindle and Johnny Tremain is already open in window behind this one. To change book to Woods Runner click “library” button at top left of Kindle window and choose Woods Runner with a double click and it will open to the right page and you or a student can start reading from there.

Advocacy - town meeting next door in library and individual work (math online, etc.) after
